Kurtzweg, Edna Elora (21 Oct. 1872 - 6 Dec. 1944)

Mrs. Edna Kurtzweg, aged 72, died at her home in the town of Levis, at 9:30 a.m. on December services where conducted on Saturday, December 9, at the Lowe Funeral Home. The Rev. G. W. Longenecker, pastor of the Congregational Church officiated. Burial took place in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Edna Elora Fessenden, daughter of Jonas and Mary Day Fessenden, was born on October 21, 1872, in the town of Levis. She spent her girlhood at the home of her parents, and received her education in the home school. On June 27, 1900, she was united in marriage at Neillsville to Albert Kurtzweg, who survives. All of her life was spent in the town of Levis, except a few years when the family resided in Westboro. The last 29 years were spent in the home, where the family now resides.

Mrs. Kurtzweg was a quiet, home-loving woman, and was known only to a small circle of friends.

Three sons and a daughter survive Roger Kurtzweg of Baraboo, Edward and Clifford Kurtzweg, of the town of Levis, and Mrs. Ruth Andrews of Seward, Alaska. Three sisters and a brother also survive, Miss Pearl Fessenden, Eddie, Mrs. John Johnson, and Webster Fessenden, all of the town of Levis, and Bessie, Mrs. Frank Shield of Potomac, Mont. There are eight grandchildren. Roger Fessenden was here for he funeral services.

Pallbearers were Guy Schulz, George Beeckler, LeGare Apfel, Mike Johnson, Harry Anderson and Fred Subke.
