Jenswold, Fred E. (7 Feb. 1883 - 28 June 1945)

Fred E. Jenswold, 62, died June 28 at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church Monday afternoon, July 2, with the Rev. Floyd Fahlgren of Neillsville officiating.

Mr. Jenswold was born in Yellow Medicine County, Minn., and lived with his parents there to young manhood. On June 8, 1909 he was married to Miss Mary Written of Fairchild. They set up housekeeping in Duluth, Minn., and lived there until 1930, when they moved to a farm north of Humbird. About three years ago they sold their farm home and moved to a place south of the village. They had just sold this home and moved into the Ludwig Miller house in the village. Mr. Jenswold had spent one night in his new home when he was taken ill and brought to the hospital, where he died.

He is survived by his wife and two sons, Walter of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Gordon of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. One son, George, was killed in action in France on September 20 of last year.

He also leaves two brothers and four sisters. His parents preceded him in death many years ago.

Frederick E. Jenswold was born February 7, 1883 in Yellow Medicine county, Minnesota, the son of Frichjof and Everina Jenswold. He lived in and near Montevideo, Minn., until his marriage to Mary Wittren, June 8, 1909. They settled in Duluth, Minn., and lived there 17 years. From 1926 until 1930 he lived in Rockford, Ill., and since 1930 has been a resident of the vicinity of Humbird, until his passing in the hospital at Marshfield. Very shortly before his death, Mr. Jenswold moved into Humbird.

He leaves his wife, Mary Jenswold, and two sons, Gordon of Milwaukee, and Walter of Kalamazoo, Mich. One other George, gave his life in France on September 20, 1944. Besides the immediate family, he leaves four sisters and two brothers, namely, Mrs. C. L. Palmer, Flint, Mich.; Mrs. Iver Severson, Montevideo, Minn.; Mrs. A. Cavanaugh, Butler, S.D.; Mrs. Wesley Searle, Kelowna, B.C. Canada; Ludwig Jenswold, Montevideo, Minn.; and Severn Jenswold, Dayton, Ohio.
