McGonigal, Annie (13 JAN 1865 - 27 APR 1942)

Annie McGonigal was born on the 13th of Jan., 1865, on the farm homestead one half mile from Newboro, Ontario, Canada.

It was here that she spent her childhood and youth and grew to young womanhood with her older sister, Nellie, and eight brothers.

After graduation from the school at Newboro, she studied music and taught many of the young people that love of music which she always had.

In later years, when only a brother and sister were left on the old homestead, she helped to do the many chores on the farm.

In August 1919, she came to Loyal to keep house for her brother, James, whose wife had passed away. Her kindly ways soon won for her many friends in her new home. Some months later her sister, Nellie, and brother William, joined her here, which added to her contentment, as she had a deep love for the members of her family.

She never ceased to mourn the loss of her sister, Nellie, and brother, Mathew, and this loneliness and grief contributed to the illness which started two and one half years ago and led to her death on April 27th.

She is deeply mourned by her brothers, James; a nephew, Frank, and wife; a sister-in-law, Mrs. M. McGonigal; a niece in New York and Michigan and a host of friends.

Seven brothers and one sister preceded her to Eternity.

Annie’s many kindnesses have endeared her to all who knew her and although she has gone from our sight she will live on in our memory.

Rev. Zinthefer officiated at the Requiem Mass held at St. Anthony’s Church on Friday, May 1st, at nine o’clock. Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bert Brown, Wm. Theisen, Verland Thums, Dr. Trnka, Roman Braun and Albert Davel.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mrs. Ellen Doyle and Mrs. H. A. Drake of Chippewa Falls and Mrs. Ender and daughter of Colby, Wis.
