Luchterhand, Julius #2 (11 JAN 1867 - 23 APR 1942)

Julius Luchterhand, 75, who had lived in the vicinity of Unity since 1888, died Thursday night, Apr. 23, at about 6:30 o’clock in St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, of a cerebral hemorrhage. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 in the Lulloff Funeral Home at Colby, where the body lay in state, and at 2:00 o’clock in the Zion Lutheran church, with the Rev. O. H. Hoffman officiating, and burial was made in the Brighton cemetery.

Mr. Luchterhand was born on Jan. 11, 1867, and was married in Loyal to Miss Doris White in 1890. He moved to a farm west of Unity in 1888 and lived there until 1916, when he moved to the village of Unity. He lived there up to the time of his life.

His wife preceded him in death two monthe ago, on Feb. 23, 1942. A son, four sisters and a brother also preceded him in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Miss Louise Luchterhand, Chicago Heights, Ill.; two brothers, Frank and Albert, both of Loyal, and two sisters, Mrs. Limp, Bloomer, and Mrs. Robert Matee, Halert, Canada.

Pallbearers were Carl Willecke, Otto Kuehling, Charles Runge, Maynard Yahr, Leonard Nickels and Louis Schwartz.

Flower bearers were Mrs., Willecke, Mrs. Julius Koch, Mrs. Edward J. Feit, Mrs. Ernest E. Capes and Mrs. Frank Jordon.

Out of town persons at the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. Walter Limp, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Berg, Mrs. Raymond Betney, and Miss Arlene Limp, all of Bloomer; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Luchterhand, Mr. and Mrs. William Cammers, William Haslow and Albert Luchterhand and son Garth, all of Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Reno Herdrich and Mr. and Mrs. George Speich and daughter, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Greeler, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Luchterhand, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. William Luchterhand, Mrs. Inga Firnstahl and Mrs. Stina Nelson, all of Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Kuehnhold and daughters Arleen and Joyce, Auburndale; Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Shupe and sons Armin and Norbert and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schalow and daughter Lorraine, all of Arpin; Miss Mildred Wilkens, Mrs. Maude Hebard, Mrs. Frances Wilkens and Mrs. Peter Hanson, all of Waupaca; Mrs. Edward Mittlestadt, Weyauwega; and Miss Naomi Rhode, Mrs. William Hamm and Mrs. Seneca Chatfield, all of East Troy.
