Bieno, Anne Magdalena (1 April 1931 - 28 June 2008)

Anne M. Bieno, age 77, of Thorp, passed into the hands of God on Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Wissota Health, in Chippewa Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin. Fr. Marion Talaga will officiate and burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Rosary service, and will be held at the church on Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Anne Magdalena Milas was born on April 1, 1931, in Lublin, WI to Joseph and Magdalena (Kowal) Milas. She was raised on the family farm and educated in the Lublin area, graduating from Withee High School in 1949. After graduation, Anne moved to Chicago where she worked as switchboard operator. She later moved back to the Lublin area and was united in marriage to Irvin Bieno on January 15, 1955, at St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin. They farmed in the Township of Thorp for many years until their retirement. Her husband, Irvin, died on January 3, 1995. She resided in Thorp until entering the nursing home in 2007.

She will be dearly missed by her children: Deb Wadzinski (special friend Dave Goodman of Thorp), Dan (Becky) Bieno of Chippewa Falls, Cindee (Greg) McMillen of Racine, Dave (Jenny) Bieno of Portage, Cheri (Jeff) Nourse of Minnetonka, MN, and Pam (Paul) Ebben of Chippewa Falls; 11 grandchildren: Candy Wadzinski, Jerrad, Glenna, Joshua, Samantha and Nicole Bieno, Tyler and Emily Nourse, and Amy, Alison and Amber Ebben; one sister, Stephanie Woytowicz of Glenview, IL; one brother, Joseph (Louise) Milas of Lublin; four sisters-in-law: Frances Horton of Bartlett, IL, Florence Milas of Stanley, Irene Milas of Thorp, and Alice Nowak of Norridge, IL; one brother-in-law, Ed (Maryann) Bieno of Stoughton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Irvin; five brothers: Chester, Edward, Ted, Stanley, and Walter Milas; and two sisters: Florence Kutyna and Bernice Brunn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.

Anne’s family would like to thank the staff at Oakbrook Health & Rehab in Thorp, and the staff at Wissota Health for their excellent care and support given to her.
