Wendt, Frederick Edward (30 August 1879 - 29 June 1946)

Funeral services were held Tuesday for Fred Wendt, 66, Town of Levis farmer, at his home and at the Congregational Church in Neillsville. The Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiated. Interment was made in the Neillsville Cemetery. He died at his home Saturday, June 29 (1946).

Fred Edward Wendt was born August 30, 1879, to Fred and Mary Wendt at Cataract, Monroe County. He had been a resident of Clark County for 48 years. He spent 10 years at Alma Center; then moved to the old Thomas Lowe farm, east of Christie, where he farmed for 22 years, moving to the present farm seven years ago.

He was a member of the Congregational Church at Neillsville. On October 7, 1902, he was married to Minnie Raether, who survives him. They were the parents of six children.

Besides his wife he is survived by four children: Alvin and Eva, at home, Mary (Mrs. Paul Stuhlman), Waukegan, Ill. and Frederick, Neillsville, a brother, William Wendt, Neillsville, four sisters, Laura (Mrs. Evan Hatton), Greenwood, Sophie (Mrs. Henry Ghent) and Annie (Mrs. William Neville) of Neillsville, and Clara Lastofka, Minneapolis, seven grand-children; Paul and Diane Stuhlman, Claire, Larry, Teriann, Edris and Melvin Wendt.

Two children, two sisters, and a brother preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were: Edward Sly, Bruce Armitage, William Buelow, George Beeckler, Leonard Wachholz and Herbert Fradette.

Those from out-of-town who attended the services were: Mrs. Paul Stuhlman, Mrs. Arthur Johnson and Mrs. Clara Lastofka and daughter.
