Swann, Edith M. (6 FEB 1885 - 29 DEC 1946)

Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Mae Swann, 61, of Crandon, were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Lowe Funeral Home, and burial took place in the Neillsville Cemetery. Services were conducted by the Rev. Floyd A. Fahlgren, pastor of the Methodist Church. Mrs. Swann died Dec. 29, 1946 at her home in Crandon after several months’ illness. Brief funeral services were held Thursday morning at Crandon.

Edith Mae King, daughter of James and Julia King, was born Feb. 6, 1885, in Neillsville. Her early life was spent in Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.) and the town of Grant. On Oct. 21, 1903, she was united in marriage with George Swann, who survives. Following their marriage, they lived in the town of Grant, on the farm now occupied by the E. L. Moberg family. In 1927 they moved to Crandon.

Mrs. Swan is survived by her husband and a son, Herbert, of Crandon, and a sister, Blanche, Mrs. Walter Carter, also of Crandon. Her parents are deceased. Other relatives from away who were here to attend the funeral services were Mrs. Herbert Swann, Walter Carter and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Carter of Crandon, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Yankee and daughter, Miss Nadine Handke of Neenah, and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Swann of Cedar Rapids, Ia. Several friends were here from Crandon for the services.

Pallbearers were Willard Gerhardt, Walter Gerhardt, George West, Louis Scholtz, Clifford Blackman and Herman Braatz. The family and friends returned Thursday evening to Crandon.
