Hubing, Edward A. (23 APR 1883 - 31 JAN 1947)

Funeral services for Edward A. Hubing, 64, of the town of Grant (Clark Co., Wis.), were held at 10 o’clock Monday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville, the Rev. Fr. John J. Pritzl officiating. Burial was made in the parish cemetery. Prayer services were held earlier at the Lowe funeral Home, where the body had lain in state. Mr. Hubing died at his farm home on Jan. 31, 1947.

He was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary Hubing and was born April 23, 1883, in the town of Grant, where most of his life was spent. He was the second of a family of 10 children. He attended school at Delavan and there learned the barber trade, which he practiced for several years. In 1910 he homesteaded a half section of land in Macone Co., Montana. Since the death of his mother in 1832 he has made his home with his brothers, Arthur and Charles. He was residing with his brother, Charles, at the time of his death. His health had been poor the past 12 years.

Mr. Hubing is survived by all of his brothers and sisters. They are: William J. Hubing and Albert J. Hubing of Terry, Mont.; Arthur, Charles, Henry and George Hubing of Neillsville; Mrs. Celia Root of Knowlton, Wis.; Mrs. Clara Coppins of Lakeland, Fla; Mrs. Marie McCauley of West Union, Ia.

Pallbearers were: Bert Swann, Arthur Drescher, Willard Gerhardt, Herman Braatz, Ernest Kuechenmeister and Alvin Eisentraut.

Those from away who were here to attend the funeral were: William J. and Albert J. Hubing, Terry, Mont; Mrs. Celia root with her husband, Frank Root, and daughter, Verna Knowlton, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Westphal and son, Monwell, Warrens, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Ira Slocomb and Dan Hughes, Menomonie, Wis.
