Reshel, Delores (29 APR 1947)

The Olivet Congregational parsonage at Columbus was the scene of a wedding Tuesday, April 29, 1947, when Mrs. Delores Reshel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meier of Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Michael Marcinka of Columbus. The single ring ceremony was performed at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Leslie G. Deinstadt in the presence of a few relatives and friends.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of pale blue ribbed chiffon, designed with a sweetheart neckline, fitted bodice, full skirt and three-quarter length sleeves. Her matching shoulder length veil fell from a tiara of flowers. She also wore a gold locket, a gift of the groom. She carried a shower bouquet of red roses, sweet peas and feverfew, tied with satin ribbon.

Mrs. Kurt Schoenherr, sister of the bride, and Miss Jean Peters, friend of the bride, were bridesmaids. Mrs. Schoenherr wore a gown of pale green marquisette, while Miss Peters wore a gown of pale pink taffeta and net. They wore matching headdresses of flowers. They also wore earrings and pearl necklaces, a gift of the bride. They carried bouquets of yellow roses.

The groom was attended by Melvin Meier, brother of the bride, and Earl Wilthuhn, friend of the groom. They all wore blue suits.

At 5:30 a wedding supper was served at the Columbia Inn for 20 guests. The table was decorated in pastel colors of blue, pink and green. A three-tier wedding cake, topped with a miniature bride and groom, centered the table.

Later a reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Spring. The couple received many beautiful gifts.

In the evening a wedding dance was given at the Fireman’s park pavilion.

For the past two months the bride was employed at the S. & W. Café. The groom is employed at Stokley Foods, Inc.

Out of town guests who attended the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meier and son Melvin, Patricia Reshel, daughter of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Seidelmann, uncle and aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Arthur Kurbyan, all of Neillsville.

Other guests included Kurt Schoenherr and sons, Walter and Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Spring, Mrs. Anna Bessert and son, William, and George Kuehl, all of Columbus.

The couple will reside in Columbus.
