Bieneck, Henry (6 JUL 1853 - 5 AUG 1947)

Funeral service for Henry Bieneck, 94, of Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), were held Friday afternoon at St. John’s Lutheran Church following brief services at the Georgas Funeral Home. Mr. Bieneck died August 5, 1947 at his farm home north of Neillsville. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. William A. Baumann. Interment was in the Neillsville Cemetery beside his wife, who died in 1930.

Mr. Bieneck was born July 6, 1853, in Germany. He was married in Germany to Rosina Schwirten, on April 15, 1877. They came to America in 1883, and settled in Clark County. After farming here for a few years, they moved to Fond du Lac, where they lived a year, returning to Neillsville in 1905 and purchasing the farm home near the city.

Mr. Bieneck had been active about the farm until about a year ago. He had been a member of St. John’s Church since 1886.

Surviving are three children, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The children are Miss Caroline Bieneck and Ernest Bieneck, both of whom reside on the home farm, and Mrs. Emma Schlinkert, also of Neillsville. A sister still living a Germany.

Pallbearers were: Frank Luck, Ben Grottke, Herman Ratsch, William Duge, Carl Radke and Frank Marg. Mrs. Baumann sang, "Jerusalem, Thou City Fair and High," accompanied at the organ by Mr. Bremer. This song had been requested by Mr. Bieneck.

Out of town folks here for the services were: Mrs. James Crowley, Milwaukee; Walter Lynch, Madison; and Mr. and Mrs. James Syth, Greenwood.
