Opelt, Arlene (30 AUG 1947)

The wedding of Miss Arlene Opelt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Opelt of Granton (Clark Co., Wis.), to Thomas Rosandich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Rosandich of Granton, was solemnized Saturday, Aug. 30, 1947, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. The Rev. Fr. John J. Pritzl officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin gown with a sweetheart neckline, long sleeves. The gown was cut in princess style with three rows of lace inserts in the back. Her bridal bouquet consisted of white roses with white baby mums.

Miss Helen Rosandich, sister of the groom as maid of honor, wore a pink taffeta gown with matching bonnet of net. Miss Fay Quicker, friend of the bride and groom, as bridesmaid, wore blue organdy with frosted flowers and matching bonnet of net.

The groom’s attendants were Louis Rosandich, brother of the groom, and Jerry Opelt, brother of the bride.

Music was furnished by St. Mary’s choir.

A wedding reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents for about 115 guests. The house was decorated with pink, white and blue streamers and garden flowers. A seven-layer wedding cake formed the table centerpiece.

The bride is a graduate of the Neillsville High School, class of 1945, and has been employed as a clerical worker at a plant in West Allis. The groom served three years in the armed forces and is employed in Milwaukee, where they will reside.

Guests from away were: Anna Rosandich, West Allis Mr. and Mrs. John Rosandich, Martin and Louis Rosandich, Al Bartell, and Irma Kroening, al of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Bymers, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Barton and son, George, Spencer.

Those who assisted in the serving were: Mrs. Otto Yankee, Mrs. Martin Kapusta, Jeanette Carl, Virginia Dux, Margaret Hediger and Betty Hauge.
