Hartzell, Winnefred (24 Mar. 1908 - 22 Feb. 1956)

Funeral services were held Monday morning for Mrs. Robert W. Hartzell in Notre Dame Catholic church at Chippewa Falls where burial was made. Mrs. Hartzell, a resident of Abbotsford since 1944, died shortly after 10 o’clock Wednesday night, Feb. 22.

The former Winnefred Rooney was born in Chippewa Falls on March 24, 1908. After attending Notre Dame School there, she continued her education at Eau Claire and at La Crosse State College. She taught school in the Abbotsford area for several years. She was married at Chippewa Falls to Robert W. Hartzell on September 2, 1936. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic parish and its Altar Society.

Surviving are her husband, five children, Suzanne, Mary-wyn, Robert Jr., James and Richard, all at home, her mother, Mrs. Catherine Rooney of Chippewa Falls; two brothers, John Rooney of Chippewa Falls and Charles Rooney of Eau Claire.
