Wegner, Doris (Marriage - 8 June 1946)

Miss Doris Wegner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wegner, of the Town of Seif, and Delbert Struble, son of Mrs. Delbert Struble of Neillsville, were married Saturday, June 8, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Globe. The Rev. Adolph Schumann performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride wore a gown of white, fashioned with satin bodice. The yoke of silk ninon was edged with seed pearls. The full skirt of ninon ended in a long train. A combination tiara of seed pearls and rhinestones held in place the full length veil of net, with inserts of val lace. For the traditional something old, the bride carried a white handkerchief which was 40 years old. It belonged to the groom’s mother. The bridal bouquet was red roses, white carnations and lilies of the valley.

Mrs. Clarence Wegner, sister-in-law of the bride, was the matron of honor, and Mrs. Lawrence Struble and Mrs. Donald Gress were the bridesmaids. Clarence Wegner, brother of the bride, was the groom’s best man, and Lawrence Struble and Donald Gress were ushers.

Following the ceremony a reception was held for 150 guests at the home of the bride’s parents.

Mrs. Struble received her education in the local schools, and has been employed in various places in Neillsville; for the past two years at the Weidenhoff plant. Mr. Struble is a graduate of Neillsville High School, and spent four years overseas with the Service Company. He is now employed with a local insurance firm, and is commander of the local V.F.W. post.

Out-of-town guests present at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Baysinger, Mr. and Mrs. Craig Montag, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Timmler and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Thiede.

After a two week’s wedding trip through western states, Mr. and Mrs. Struble will be at home to their friends at their home on South Hewett Street.
