Kelley, George (1 July 1916 - 18 July 2008)

George Kelley, 92, Fort Myers, FL died Friday, July 18, 2008 at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers, FL.

A memorial service will be held at the Nicolet Memorial Garden, 2770 Bay Settlement Road, Green Bay, WI on Friday, August 8 at 2:00 p.m.

George was born July 1, 1916, in Manitowoc to the late David and Mary (Willner) Kelley.

On October 28, 1938, he married Beatrice Vanden-Avond in Duck Creek.

George served in the U.S. Army and was wounded in Germany in 1945 and was awarded the Purple Heart.

He founded Kelley Dairy Supply in Abbotsford in 1957. George serviced on the Marathon County Board as a supervisor for six years.

In 1971 he and Bea retired and moved to Cape Coral, FL.

Active in boating, he served as the Commodore of the Cape Coral Cruise Club in the early 1990’s. They spent their summers in Minocqua.

Survivors include his wife Beatrice, Fort Meyers; children Pat (Lois) Kelley, Madison, Nancy (Richard) Brown, Fort Meyers, FL, Mary (Carl) Nimz, Fort Meyers, FL, John (Mary) Kelley, Green Bay, Mark Kelley, Dorchester and Pamela (Alan) Prestebak, Dorchester, Wis. He is further survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

George was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Leo.
