Kobylarczyk, Antoinette Jean (31 December 1936 - 16 August 2008)

Antoinette J. Kobylarczyk, age 71, of Thorp passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2008, at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp with Rev. Keith Apfelbeck officiating. Burial followed in St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Leonard Cwikla, Stanley Halida, Jr., Neil Alger, Jerry Kobylarczyk, Steve Pawlik, and Alfons Mitchell, Jr. Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home with a 7 p.m. Rosary service. Visitations were also held on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Antoinette Jean Mnichowicz was born on December 31, 1936, in Polley, WI to Anthony J., Sr. and Ann (Pawlik) Mnichowicz. She was raised on the family farm in Lublin and received her education at area schools. After completing her education, Antoinette lived with her uncle for a short time, working at his resort. She then moved to Chicago, IL where she worked for Western Electric for ten years. Upon returning to the Thorp area, Antoinette worked at the Thorpedo Restaurant. She was united in marriage to Louis F. Kobylarczyk on October 15, 1966, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin. Together, they farmed until 1977 when they retired and moved to the City of Thorp. Antoinette continued to reside in Thorp until entering the Clark County Health Care Center in 2003.

Antoinette was a very caring person who always found time to help her family in any way possible. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, baking, cooking, crocheting, knitting, and doing embroidery work. She was especially fond of her Pomeranian dogs.

She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church and its PCCW, and also a member of the Rainbow Homemakers Club.

Antoinette is survived by her four brothers: Dennis (Ruth) Mnichowicz of Thorp, WI, James (Anita) Mnichowicz of Lublin, WI, Anthony J. Mnichowicz, Jr. of Lublin, WI, and Leon (Theresa) Mnichowicz of Roselle, IL; nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Louis, on March 9, 2005; one sister, Jeanette; and two brothers: Gabriel and Joseph.

Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
