Dux, Frederick "Fritz" J. (2 July 1934 - 24 August 2008)

Frederick "Fritz" John Dux, 74, of Neillsville died at his home August 24, 2008.

Fritz was born July 2, 1934, in Neillsville to Fred and Alma (Ziglinski) Dux. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School through the eighth grade.

Fritz lived a full and accomplished life. At an early age he worked various jobs in the local community. He married Betty Meier in 1956, and shortly after the couple moved with their young family to Crystal Lake, IL, and then on to Janesville before returning to settle in Neillsville. Betty died in 1970, but life continued on for Fritz and his children. Fritz worked for the Clark County Highway Department and also for the Neillsville Co-op Transport.

In 1975, Fritz married Kathy (Wendt) Kyle at St. John’s Church, and together with Fritz’s four children and Kathy’s two children, they became one loving family. Fritz began working soon after for Cenex Transportation as a semi-driver. In 1986, Fritz and his family endeavored to start their own business, Dux Disposal Service, which operated and served the community for seven years. In 1999, Fritz retired from his trucking career and filled his hunger for work with various jobs, including the Neillsville School District as a bus driver. Fritz enjoyed dancing, hobby farming and more than anything, spending time with his family. He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Fritz is survived by his children, Steve Dux, Neillsville, Mark (Kaye) Dux, Neillsville, Loriann (Dennis) Langreck, Neillsville, Bryan (Paula) Dux, Hatfield, Scott (Jill) Kyle, Marshfield, and Rebecca (Bruce) Hynes, Ettrick; 15 grandchildren, Amber, Nicolette, Matthew, Michael, Clinton, Bennett, Elizabeth, Sarah, Luke, Mary, Rachel, Andrew, Michelle, Zachery and Nathan; three great-grandchildren, Sevannah, Macen and Sierra; a brother, Marvin (Sherry) Dux and a sister, Arlene Fanning, both of Janesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Betty, and a grandson, Anthony.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 28, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Church, Neillsville, with Pastor Timothy Biebert officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Buchannan Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
