Raasch, Dorothy (Marriage - 19 June 1948)

In a double ring ceremony at 3:00 p.m. Sat. June 19, (1948), in the Zion Lutheran Church in Colby, the Reverend O. Hoffmann married Miss Dorothy Raasch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Braun of Colby, and Mr. Harold E. Kademan of Colby, Wis.

The bride wore a grey gabardine dressmaker suit, with a corsage of pink and white roses. Her matron of honor, Mrs. Reuben Kademan, sister-in-law of the groom, wore a suit identical to the bride’s, and her corsage was of pink and white carnations. The best man was Reuben Kademan, the groom’s brother. Flower girls were the Misses Margaret and Betty Braun, nieces of the bride.

One hundred guests attended a reception after the wedding at the home of the groom’s parents. Supper was served to 75 immediate relatives and close friends in the church basement, where the predominating decorations were vari-colored streamers, wedding bells and a three-tiered cake trimmed with pink roses.

Out-of-town guests included Mrs. Francis Siebold and son, Richard, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Siebold, all of Sheboygan Falls; Mrs. Ben Lewis, Mrs. Evelyn Robin and Miss Frances Lewis, all of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wundrow and family of Pittsville.

The bride is a graduate of Colby High School, as is the groom. He is employed as parts manager for a motor company in Colby, where the couple will take up their residence after a wedding trip into Minnesota.
