An Odd Fellows Lodge will be instituted at Dorchester, next Friday evening, and the brothers request at large attendance of members of the order, as they wish a good send off.
E. J. Rice, of Neillsville, was appointed timber agent, by Governor Rusk, Friday, for this (seventh) district. The district was created last winter and comprises the counties of Clark, Jackson, Wood, Trempeleau and Buffalo.
On Saturday and Sunday, July 4th and 5th, will occur the regular quarterly meeting of this M. E. Church. It is expected that Presiding elder W. R. Irish will be present. An earnest invitation is extended to all to be present.
Thos. Locke, the Dorchester meat market, will be at Bredemeyer’s store, Tuesdays and Fridays with everything in the line of Fresh Meats, necessary to the well being of our citizens. Give him a call and try his cuts and slices.
Geo. Steitz Jr., had his right hand cut severely, last Saturday, by getting it in contact with the slasher saw, at Graham & Cousin’s mill. The little finder had to be amputated between the second and knuckle joints; the third finger was badly cut but amputation was unnecessary.
