Rachu, Darlene Marie (Marriage - 11 Aug. 1956)

Miss Darlene Marie Rachu, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Rachu of Unity, Route 1, and Kenneth George Jicinsky, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Jicinsky of Unity, were united in marriage Saturday, Aug. 11th at 9:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, Wis., Rev. John B. Pinion officiating at the nuptial mass. Mixed flowers decorated the altar.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a gown of Chantilly lace with fitted bodice, long sleeves completed at the neckline with net insert and mandarin collar highlighted with sequins and pearls, lace skirt over satin and net, with tiers of ruffles on each side. Her imported silk illusion veil was attached to an open crown of beads, pearls and sequins. A pearl necklace and ear rings completed her attire. She carried a white prayer book, a gift of the groom, and her cascade bouquet consisted of red roses and white carnations.

Delores Jicinsky of Unity, sister of the groom, was maid of honor and Mrs. Glenn Rachu of Marshfield, sister-in-law of the bride, and Arliss Rachu of Marshfield, cousin of the bride, were bridesmaids. They wore dresses of lace fitted bodices with net ruffles inserted at the upper front with lace cover-up jackets. Their strapless gowns had full skirts of nylon net and lace ruffles over taffeta extending to the floor. They also wore matching tierra crowns. The maid of honor’s colonial bouquet consisted of blue and white carnations and the bridesmaid’s colonial bouquets consisted of pink and white carnations.

The mother of the bride wore a dress of powder blue nylon lace over taffeta with pink accessories and the groom’s mother wore a dress of navy blue with white accessories. Both wore a corsage of pink roses and white carnations.

Donald Rachu, brother of the bride, was best man and Glenn Rachu of Marshfield, brother of the bride, and Charles Jicinsky of Unity, brother of the groom, were groomsmen.

Dinner and supper were served 200 guests in St. Mary’s gymnasium and a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. In the evening, a wedding dance was held at Kolby Park Pavilion.

Guests were from Green Bay, DePere, Menasha, Rhinelander, Wausau, Marshfield, Stratford, Edgar, Colby, Spencer, Curtiss, Memoninee Falls, Abbotsford, Antigo, Racine, Unity, Menominee, Mich., and California.

After a wedding trip to Yellowstone National Park and the West Coast, the couple will be at home at Spencer where the groom is employed by the Spencer Milk Products. The bride is employed by Weinbrenner Shoe Co. of Marshfield.
