Plummer, Jessie (Marriage - 7 August 1948)

Before a group of 16 close friends and relatives, wedding vows were exchanged August 7 (1948) at 8:00 p.m. by Jessie Plummer and George Beeckler, both of Neillsville. The simple, double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. N. J. Dechant in the parsonage of his church, the Zion Evangelical and Reformed.

The bride, who is the daughter of Mrs. Elmer Brown of McMinnville, Ore., wore a street length dress of aqua jersey, and a corsage of pink roses. Her matron of honor was Mrs. Ben Beeckler, from Granton, and Mr. Ben Beeckler served as best man for his brother.

After the wedding the guests were entertained at supper, which was served at Keller’s Fireplace. The table was decorated with pink and yellow roses.

Out-of-town guests included Mr. Beeckler’s sisters, the Misses Bessie, Pearle and Daphne Beeckler, and Mrs. C. R. Waterman, all of Granton; the bride’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Northup of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Reindel and Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Warren of the Town of York.

Mr. Beeckler is chairman of the Town of Levis and was long a farmer in that town. He is also a member of the county highway committee. Mrs. Beeckler has long been manager of the home for the aged. The couple will reside at 268 South Hewett Street Neillsville.
