Nowack, Shirley Mae (Marriage - 28 August 1948)

Miss Shirley Mae Nowack, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Nowack of Granton, is the bride of Raymond Walter Barth, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Barth of Granton. The wedding occurred on August 28, (1948) at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church at Granton. The Rev. William Lauterbach officiated.

For her wedding the bride chose a gown of sheer ninon over satin. A lace ruffle fell from the shoulder-line and lace was inserted in the train. Her veil, inserted with hearts of lace, was attached to a beaded sweetheart crown. She carried a bouquet of lilies and roses.

The bride was attended by Miss Norma Barth, sister of the groom, Miss Lura Nowack, sister of the bride, Miss Darlene Nowack, a cousin of the bride and Miss Mildred Ericksen of Neillsville. They were attired in blue, orchid, pink and peach.

The groom’s attendants were Harold Vandenbergen of Arpin, Edward Jakubowski, Walter Helm and Marvin Garbisch.

A wedding supper was served to 200 relatives and friends. Mrs. Barth is a graduate of the Granton High School with the class of 1948. The young people are making their home on a farm near Granton. A wedding trip is planned in the fall.
