Foster, Charles M. (4 Aug 1826 – 17 Mar 1907)

C.M. Foster died March 17 of general debility. Mr. Foster had been in feeble health for some time and his faculties had become so impaired that he was taken to Eau Claire a short time ago and placed in a private ward where it was hoped the treatment might be of benefit to him. He failed to improve however and passed away Sunday evening. Charles M. Foster was born in Owego, Tioga County, NY on August 4th 1826, was married to Mary Randall in October 1855. Soon after his marriage he came to Wisconsin and settled in Waushara County, later moved to Ft. Howard and then came to Fairchild where he has resided for about 30 years. His wife died about fifteen years ago. For the past nine years his sister Mrs. O.F. Sherwood has lived with him and taken care of him.

He is survived by two sisters and one brother. Mrs. O.F. Sherwood, Mrs. H.P. Gaskill and N.C. Foster all residing in Fairchild. Services were held at the latter’s home Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. F.J. Bryan. Interment was made in the village cemetery.
