------ Marzinski, Shirley Ann (29 MAY 1965)

St. Peter’s Lutheran church, Dorchester, was the scene of the wedding of Miss Shirley Ann Marzinski of Dorchester and Russell James Buss of Abbotsford Saturday, May 29.  The Rev. F. H. Sprengler heard their exchange of vows in a 7 o’clock ceremony during which “the Lord’s Prayer” and “O’ Perfect Love” were sung.

Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Marzinski of route 1, Dorchester, and Mr. and Mrs. Chester Buss of Abbotsford are the parents of the bridal couple.

Cousins of the bridal party made up the retinue of attendants: Miss Amanda Marzinski of Pemberton, Minn., and Dennis Bahr of Athens were the honor couple, and Miss Beverly Bahr of Athens and Duane Offedahl of Pemberton were the second couple.

The bride appeared in a floor length organza over taffeta gown with a chapel train and a fitted bodice and long tapered sleeves.  Sequins and pearls on re-embroidered lace enhanced the modified scoop neckline and the natural waistline extending in the bell-shaped skirt.  A floral headpiece with pearl trim held her bouffant veil of silk illusion.  Red roses were arranged with white carnations and Stephanotis in the cascade bouquet with she carried.

Identically styled short sheaths in light blue peau taffeta were worn by her attendants.  The fitted bodices were styled with scoop necklines and three-quarter length sleeves.  The slim skirts had bell-shaped long overskirts with unpressed pleats at the waist accented with a bow at the front and a Watteau panel effect at the back.  Light blue taffeta was made into bows for their headpieces with which they wore circular veils.  They carried cascades of pink and white carnations.

About 200 guests attended the wedding reception at the church parlors and later at a dance at Sportsmen’s Park at Colby.

Mr. and Mrs. Buss are now at home on a farm at route 1, Abbotsford.

Guests from away who came for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lueke, Mrs. Evelyn Marzinski and family and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hoffman of Pemberton, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Doss, Mankato, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Lyall Berg and Mrs. Carrie Nelson, New Richmond, Minn.
