Habeck, Doris Elmira (Krueger) (19 APR 1918 - 30 AUG 2013)

Doris Habeck was born in Athens, on April 19, 1918, and died August 30, 2013, at Golden Living Center Continental Manor in Abbotsford, at the age of 95 years.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens. The Rev. Andrew Alberts will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services all at the church. Burial will be in the Athens Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Doris Elmira Habeck

Doris Habeck was born in Athens, WI on April 19, 1918, and died August 30, 2013 at Golden Living Center Continental Manor in Abbotsford, WI at the age of 95 years.

As a lifelong resident of the village of Athens, Doris was married to Alfred Habeck, who preceded her in death twenty four years ago. They had one son, Duane Habeck of Centennial, CO.

Doris' teaching career spanned twenty nine years in Athens area schools, retiring in 1973. She was a graduate of Athens High School and Wisconsin State University at Stevens Point.

Doris was also active supporting Trinity Lutheran Church and School activities, including choir, PTL, LWML and other Ladies Aid functions. Doris was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and provided support for the Athens Old Timers band.

Doris was preceded in death by her brothers Orville Krueger and Donald Krueger, and by sisters Lucille Aderhold, Irene Habeck, Esther Nehrbass, and Elvira Jantsch. She is survived by one sister, Geraldine Anderson and one brother Erlyn Krueger. Doris has three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
