Schlinsog, Karen Ruth (Marriage - 25 July 1970)

Miss Karen Ruth Schlinsog, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schlinsog of Granton, was united in marriage to Gerald F. Wegner, son of Mr and Mrs. Edward Wegner of Granton, Saturday afternoon in the Free Methodist Church in Loyal. The Rev. Paul Miller performed the double ring ceremony in the presence of 160 guests.

The bride wore a white entrained gown of organza, taffeta and Venetian lace, with a high neckline and long lady bishop sleeves. The bodice was enhanced with small pink daisies, and the cuffs, neckline and hemline were accented with Venetian lace. The headpiece was a profile of Venetian lace, with silk organza and daisy trim and she wore a silk illusion veil. She carried a bouquet of small pink daisies, baby’s breath and ivy, with long pink satin ribbons, as she was escorted to the altar by her father.

Mrs. Le Ora Bezlyk was matron of honor. Mrs. Christa Boe and Miss Diana Wegner were bridesmaids. They wore floor-length gowns of taffeta and organza with floral designs; cowl collars and long bishop sleeves. Their gowns were completed with bow trim at the empire waistline. They carried colonial bouquets of pink lilacs, white and light green daisies with pink satin ribbons.

Ronald Wegner was bestman. Duane Wegner and Tonty Bezlyk were groomsmen, and ushers were Steve Schlinsog and Ted Boe. Organist was Mrs. Dona Belcian. Mrs. Dorothy Floyd sang. A reception was held in Marshfield.

The bride was graduated in 1968 from Granton High School and attended Wisconsin State University- Stevens Point. She was employed in Stevens Point. The groom was graduated in 1967 from Granton High School and attended the University in Stevens Point. He is employed by Thorp Finance in Waupaca.

The couple was spending a week in the Black Hills and Badlands of South Dakota, and is now making their home at 3300 Water Street, Stevens Point.

Out-of-town guests attending the wedding included: River Falls, Loyal, Neillsville, Chili, Marshfield, Granton, Elmwood, Pittsville, Green Bay, Black River Falls, Stevens Point, Wausau, Cumberland; Minneapolis, Winnebago, Illinois, Newark, New Jersey, San Diego, Calif., and Davis Junction, Ill.
