Schultz, Lydia (27 NOV 1939)

Miss Lydia Schultz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Schultz, chose for her wedding day the 26th anniversary of the marriage of her parents. On Monday afternoon at two o’clock in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Miss Schultz became the bride of Darold Freimund, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Freimund of Stratford.

Tiny white buttons down the back and single white flower at the shoulder trimmed the white brocaded gown fashioned with leg o’mutton sleeves and a long train which was worn by the bride.. A fingertip veil fell from a tiara of rhinestones and pearls. Rhinestones also gleamed from the sole line of the white satin pumps which the bride wore. To complete the tradition of "Something old, something blue" the bride carried a lace handkerchief which belonged to her sister and had a tiny blue flower in her shower bouquet of roses, carnations and gypsophilia.

Three sisters attended the bride; Miss Juanita Schultz as maid of honor and the Misses Lucille and Myrtle Schultz as bridesmaids. Brocaded taffeta in teal with matching veil caught with flowers and silver slippers were worn by the maid of honor. Deep rose brocaded taffeta was worn by the first bridesmaid and pink taffeta by the second bridesmaid. Both wore veils with flowers and white slippers.

The groom was attended by Victor Boss as best man and Clarence Schultz, brother of the bride and Roland Freimundt, brother of the groom.

Following the ceremony a reception was held and a five o’clock dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents. The home was decorated in streamers of rose, white and teal. A large wedding cake was place in the center of the bridal table. About 70 guests were present.

In the evening a wedding dance was held at the Trianon Gardens.

Mr. and Mrs. Freimundt are at home to their friends on the farm with his parents near Stratford. In the near future they will move to the groom’s farm nearby.

Among the guests from away who attended the wedding were: Mrs. H. Freimundt, Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ulrich, Elzier Peterson of Wrightstown; Raymond Novak, Wausau; Hilbert and Elmer Greizer of Hamburg; Mrs. Brueswitz and son, Otto Freimundt, Spencer; Mr. and Tony Weise and daughter, Elsie, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Konkel, Milan; Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Ulrich, Mrs. Arthur Jensen and family, Dorchester; Anthony Schoe, Vincent Frane, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fisher and family, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schmelzer, Cherokee; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Parge, Miss Harriet VanRooy and Mr. and Mrs. Walter boss and family, Abbotsford, Wis.
