McCabe, Mary L. #2 (1 MAY 1866 - 17 MAY 1939)

Funeral services for Mrs. J. B. McCabe will be conducted on Saturday morning. A short service at the home will preceded the ten o’clock requiem high mass at St. Bernard’s Church. Interment will follow in the family lot of St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Menasha.

Mrs. Joseph B. McCabe was born Mary Louise Leuth at Columbus, Wis., on May 1, 1866. In 1882 she was united in marriage to Joseph McCabe at Menasha where they made their home until they came to Abbotsford in 1891. They have lived here together until the time of her death at her home at 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, heart ailment and complications caused her death at the age of 73. She had been seriously ill the past five months.

Mrs. McCabe was a most active member of St. Bernard’s Congregation, having helped organize the parish, the first choir, and Ladies’ Altar Society. The first services held for this parish were held at the McCabe home until the church was built. Mrs. McCabe acted most energetically as president of the Ladies’ Altar Society for many years.

Mrs. McCabe was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America and the Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

She is survived by her husband, J. B. McCabe; two daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Enman of Pardeeville and Miss Raphaella McCabe at home; two sons, Felix W. of Seattle, Washington and Robert Emmit of St. Paul; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Martha Malchow of Superior.
