Schultz, Julia #2 (27 OCT 1865 - 21 JUL 1939)

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Julia Schultz, Monday afternoon at one o’clock at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Brandt officiated. Interment followed in the Abbotsford Cemetery.

The pallbearers were Walter Boss, Steve Kovac, Leo Banditt, Fred Meske, Frank Schultz and Helmuth Wirth. Those who carried floral tributes were little neighbors and friends of the deceased. They were Misses Margaret Leichtnam, Regina Olson, Shirley Kleinstick, Elsie Miller, ruth and Violet Boss.

Mrs. Julia Schultz was born Julia Weideman in Sheboygan Falls, Oct. 27, 1865. She came to Abbotsford in 1888 and was married here that same year to Carl Schultz. Shortly after their marriage they moved to the farm one mile north and one mile east of Abbotsford, Wis. This was the home of Mrs. Schultz and their only son, George, until Mrs. Schultz moved to Abbotsford, where she has lived the past twenty years.

Since January Mrs. Schultz had been in poor health. However during the past five weeks and had been much improved and was able to be around. On Tuesday she suffered a stroke and Friday morning died suddenly at 10:45 a.m. Dropsy and a heart ailment were given as causes of death. Mrs. Schultz was 73 years, 8 months and 27 days old at the time of her death.

She is survived by her only son, George, of Abbotsford; Mrs. Lizzie Scholik, Fenwood; Mrs. Lena Grier, Colby; three brothers: August Weideman, Abbotsford; Fred of Two Harbors, Minn., and Herman of Colby, Wis.

Ten grandchildren survived the deceased: Mrs. Loran Schmelzer and Mrs. Carl Fischer of Colby, Lucille, Lydia, Juanita, Myrtle, Carmen, Clyde, Clarence and Wallace Schultz of Abbotsford, Wis. Five great-grandchildren also survive: Fred, Roger and Shirley Ann Schmelzer and Val Jean and Patsy Ann Fischer of Colby, Wis.

All the surviving relatives were present for the funeral except one brother, Fred of Two Harbors, Minn. Walter Ulrich, a brother of Mrs. Geo. Schultz of Wrightstown, Wis., also attended the funeral.
