Schultz, Robert C. (26 SEP 1868 - 2 Mar 1943)

Funeral services were held for Robert Carl Schultz, well known Veefkind farmer, last Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Swarthout Funeral Home in Spencer and at 2 p.m. in the Salem Evangelical Lutheran church, Veefkind, the Rev. Lloyd Lambert officiating. Interment was made in the Spencer cemetery.

Robert Carl Schultz was born Sept. 26, 1868, at Lomira, Dodge County, where he lived until nine years of age. Going to Lowell (Dodge County) from Lomira, he lived there until 1901. In 1897, Mr. Schultz and Catherine Zepp were united in marriage at Lowell. In 1901 they moved to Veefkind, Clark County, where the deceased was a farmer for 41 years. During the past two months Mr. and Mrs. Schultz lived with their daughter, Mrs. Lila Johnson, at Chili.

It was at his daughter’s home that Mr. Schultz passed away, following an illness of several months duration. His death occurred on March 2. Survivors include his wife, one daughter, three sons, one brother, a sister, and seven grandchildren. The sons are Ervin, who lives on the home farm, and Lester and Harold, who live in the state of Indiana. The brother, Frank, lives at Reeseville, and the sister, Mrs. Emma Kohn, at Watertown. Two children, Laura and Earl, died in infancy.

Pallbearers were Frank Durkee, Walter Gourlie, Charles Haslow, John Mueller, Charles Rahm, and William Reinheimer. During the funeral services the church choir sang "In the Hour of Trial." The organist was Mrs. S. Dietz.

Relatives and friends from away attending the funeral included Mrs. Elmer Kohn, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lindeman, Hilda Lindeman, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schultz, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wolfe and Charles Zepp.

The Tribune extends sympathy to the bereaved.
