Wilkins, Edgar #2 (18 MAY 1849 - 26 DEC 1939)

Funeral services for Edgar H. Wilkins, who died on Dec. 26th, 1939, will take place at Colby, Saturday afternoon. The body will lie in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home until 1:30 when services will be conducted there, followed by services at the Methodist Church at Colby, Wis. The Rev. Harry Lee will officiate. Interment will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Edgar Wilkins was born May 18, 1849 in Columbia County near Janesville. On Oct. 20, 1880 he was married to Charlotte Nancy Taylor. To them were born six children.

Mr. Wilkins came to this vicinity as early as 1878 and for many years was engaged as a sawyer and also a farmer. Between the years of 1927 - 31 Mr. and Mrs. Wilkins made their home in Florida, where Mrs. Wilkins died on Nov. 8, 1931. The following spring Mr. Wilkins came to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Alice Schraufnagel.

For the past three years he has been failing in health and died on Dec. 26th at the age of 90 of complications.

He is survived by three sons, Roscoe and Edward of Orlando, Fla.; Ernest of Big Fork, Mont., and one daughter, Mrs. Alice Schraufnagel of Abbotsford; one brother, Daniel of Fairmont, Minn., also survives.

His wife and two sons, age 8 and 12, preceded him in death.
