Nemitz, William (22 January 1861 - 27 May 1949)

William Nemitz, 88, died here May 27 (1949). Funeral Services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. from St. John’s Lutheran church, with the Rev. Alfred Schewe in charge. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

William Nemitz was born in Germany on January 22, 1861. He was married to Apolonia Koplin on May 24, 1887, in Germany.

In 1892 they moved to America and bought a farm in Pine Valley, where they lived for 22 years before coming to Neillsville, where he resided the past 35 years.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Nemitz preceded him in death in May, 1944. Two sons, Carl and Frederick, also preceded him in death.

Surviving children are: Max and Alfred, who live in California; Emil of Menasha; William of North Dakota; Arthur of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There are eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were: Arthur, Louis, August, and Carl Nemitz, Emil Wesenberg and Anton Meihack. Mesdames August, Louis, and Carl Nemitz were in charge of the flowers.
