Home From Navy

Rudolph Weix returned home on Monday last having been released from the U.S. Navy in which he has seen continuous service since Nov. 20, 1917. He received his first training at the Great Lakes and was later transferred to Newport News Va., where he was transferred to the U.S.S. Charleston upon which vessel he made six trips across the seas. In three of these trips the vessel acted as a convoy and in three acted as a troop ship in bringing back troops after the signing of the armistice. He sailed from Philadelphia on July 20th last to the Virgin Islands from which they later sailed via, the Panama Canal to Los Angeles and Seattle at which last named place they spent the winter. Rudolph’s many friends join us in welcoming him home again and hope that he will not be long in again getting his "land legs."
