Williams, Jean (Marriage - 28 May 1949)

Jean Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Williams of Milwaukee, and William C. Ewers, son of Mrs. Lula Ewers of Neillsville, were united in marriage with a double ring ceremony May 28th (1949) in the Church of the Open Door, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

The bride was attired in a white marquisette gown with long train and wore a finger tip veil with studded crown. She carried a fan of the traditional white roses.

Mrs. Leonard Mason, aunt of the bride, was maid of honor; Mrs. Stanley Switalski, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid; Judy Mason, cousin of the bride, acted as flower girl.

Leonard Mason, uncle of the bride, was best man; Stanley Switalski, brother-in-law of the groom, was second best man.

Immediately following the ceremony a reception for 175 relatives and friends was held in the church basement. Following a wedding supper at the home of the bride’s parents the couple left immediately by train for their wedding trip. They are now at home at 2003 S. 11th Street Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

A picnic dinner and shower were held May 29th for the young couple at the home of the groom’s sister, Mrs. Clarence Reinart. Eighty-seven relatives and friends welcomed the bride and groom with gifts and in celebration of the event.
