Vine, Della (28 July 1871 - 6 June 1949)

Mrs. Della Vine, 78, died at her home June 6 (1949) at 12 o’clock noon. Funeral services were to be held today at 1:30 p.m. from her home, and 2 o’clock from the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church, with the Rev. Virgil Nulton in charge. Interment is to be made in the Grant Cemetery.

Della Waterman was born July 28, 1871, in the Town of Grant. She received her education in the Grant rural schools. For three years she was employed at the Lac du Flambeau Indian reservation.

On April 17, 1901, she was united in marriage to George Vine at Lac du Flambeau. They came to the Town of Grant, where they spent the remainder of their lives. Mr. Vine preceded her in death on August 6, 1945.

Mrs. Vine was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America and of the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church.

She is survived by four children: Claude Vine of Chicago; Irving and Theamore Vine of Granton: Mrs. George Kressalt of Spencer; and eleven grandchildren.

A son, Everett, a sister and five brothers preceded her in death.

Pallbearers at the funeral of Della Vine were: William Vine, Louis Scholtz, Elmer Kapfer, Ernest Vine, Lee Selves, and Roy Suckow.

Those in charge of the flowers were: Mrs. William Vine, Mrs. Ernest Vine, Mrs. Elmer Kapfer, Mrs. Lee Selves, and Mrs. Roy Suckow.

Mrs. George Kuehn and Joyce Kuehn sang, "Nearer My God To Thee," and "Saved By Grace." They were accompanied by Mrs. Florence Counsell.

Those attending the service from out-of-town were: Mr. and Mrs. Claude Vine, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. George Kressalt and family, Spencer; Mrs. Richie Waterman, Wayne, Mich.; Mrs. Jessie Schultz, Alma Center; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Carter and Mrs. Etta Carter of Crandon.
