Hoops, June Arlene (8 Mar. 1929 - 4 Oct. 2008)

SPENCER June A. Hoops, 79, of Spencer, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at the House of the Dove under the loving care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. The Rev Karl Rose will officiate. Burial of ashes will be in the West Spencer Cemetery. Mrs. Hoops' grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Spencer and one hour prior to service time Saturday at the church.

June Arlene Hoops was born March 8, 1929, in the town of Sherman, a daughter of Martin and Jennie (Moen) Below. She attended Spencer Schools. Following graduation June went to work at J.C. Penney in Marshfield. She transferred to a store in Illinois for a short period. Upon moving back to Spencer, she was employed at the Shoe Factory. On Sept. 3, 1949, at the Trinity Lutheran Church In Spencer, June was united in holy marriage to Lloyd Charles Hoops. The couple farmed together in Spencer for nearly 59 years.

June cherished the time she could spend with her family and friends, milking the cows and most especially being with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling the state with Lloyd along with playing cards.

Mrs. Hoops was a 65-year member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer.

She is lovingly survived and will be sadly missed by her husband of 59 years, Lloyd, Spencer; children, Nick Hoops, Wausau, Richard Hoops, Stoughton, and Peggy Schumacher, Spencer. Eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence Below, Spencer, and Gerald Below, Frazee, Minn.; as well as numerous other relatives and friends survive her.

Beside her parents, one brother, Arnold Below, preceded June in death.
