Makie, Sanna (29 OCT 1863 - 17 MAY 1946)

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon from the Finnish Lutheran Church for Mrs. Thomas Makie, 82, who succumbed to old age complications.

She passed away at the Sacred Heart Hospital at Eau Claire Friday, May 17, 1946, where she had been hospitalized for the past two weeks. Previous to the time she required hospitalization she had been in exceptionally good health, but failed rapidly in the last two or three weeks.

Mrs. Maki was born on Oct. 29, 1863. Since 1914 she and her family have resided on a farm which they worked diligently to develop to its present day standards in the Town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.), 12 miles southwest of Owen.

Her passing is mourned by her husband, two sons, Richard of Madison, and William, who lives at home, and two daughters, Mrs. Einar (Lempi) Ruoko, and Mrs. A. Kaino, both of Crosby, Minn., besides many relatives and friends.

Final rites were read by Rev. Kononen of Floodwood, Minn., and interment was made in the Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers at the service were: Frank Karve, Arvid Gummerson, Otto Hakola, Henry Perttunen, Andrew Kytola, and Walfred Mantyla.
