Friday evening, May 31, 1946, Mrs. Sophia Bjorn and daughter, Rachel, and son Eugene Bjorn, of Owen, Wis. (Clark Co., Wis.), traveled to Waukegan, Ill., where they attended the wedding service which united Miss Elsie Bjorn, daughter of Mrs. Sophia Bjorn, and Marvin N. Mannisto, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hjalmer Mannisto, of Waukegan, Ill., in marriage.

The ceremony was read in the Finnish Lutheran Parsonage at Waukegan by Dr. A. R. Rautalahti.

The bride chose for the occasion a gown with a satin top and sweetheart neckline, and full net skirt and train, with a full fingertip net veil. She carried a mixed bouquet. She was attended by bridesmaid Elvira Bjorn, who wore a matching gown of pale aqua, and wore a nosegay of mixed flowers.

The bridegroom’s attendant was Eino Mikela, attired in a brown suit.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hjalmer Mannisto at 412 Hellmholz, Waukegan, Ill.

Among the out of town guests attending the ceremony were: Mrs. Sophia Bjorn and daughter Rachel, and son Eugene, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. C. Walsberg, Mr. and Mrs. G. Seppara of DeKalb, Ill., and numerous other relatives and friends from DeKalb and Chicago, Ill.

The newlyweds will make their home temporarily with the groom’s parents in Waukegan. Wednesday and Thursday they visited with relatives in the city of Owen.
