Peterson, Lauretta C. (15 JUN 1946)

The Nazareth Lutheran Church of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) was the scene of a beautiful wedding service Saturday afternoon at two o’clock when the nuptial vows were exchanged by Lauretta C. Peterson and Howard S. Gilbertson. The nuptial service was read by Rev. L. E. Bundgaard.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter C. Peterson of Owen, and the bridegroom the son of Mr. and Mrs. Engman Gilbertson of Van Dyne.

The bride attended the Elmhurst Grade School and graduated from the Owen High School with the class of 1944. Mr. Gilbertson attended the Withee and Jefferson Grade School in Fond du Lac, and graduated from the Withee High School in 1942. His present occupation is herdsman and deliveryman with the Holly Ridge Dairies.

A beautifully designed gown of white marquisette over a taffeta skirt with a satin bodice scalloped at the waist, was chosen by the bride for the occasion. The dress was further enhanced by its built up sweetheart neckline and long sleeves coming to a point over the wrists and a long fingertip veil caught to a beaded tiara. Her bridal bouquet consisted of pink rose buds, gardenias, white carnations and sweet peas.

Doris Peterson, maid of honor and bridesmaids, Misses LeMine Gilbertson and Marjorie Bublitz’ gowns were all white with sweetheart necklines and puffed sleeves. They wore shoulder corsages of red rose buds and white sweet peas.

The bridegroom and his attendants, best man, Eugene Koplitz, and groomsmen, Martin Peterson and Arthur Peterson, wore the conventional business suits with boutonnieres of white carnations.

A reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents for the bridal party and their many relatives and friends following the ceremony.

Decorations in the home were made up of numerous crepe paper streamers of pink, blue and white, extending out from the center of the room, from which hung a large wedding bell directly over the center of the bridal party’s table. Large occasional bouquets of pink and white summer flowers were placed about the room.

The newlyweds are making their home on the groom’s dairy farm one-half mile west of Withee.
