Stauss, Frank P. (7 Sept. 1881 - 14 Jan. 1960)

Frank P. Stauss, former Marshfield alderman and Fire and Police Commission member, died of complications early this morning at his home, 1203 E. Blodgett St., after being in ill health for five years. He was 78 years of age.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. John’s Catholic Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. A. N. Schuh will officiate, and burial will be made in Gate of Heaven cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Renbs Funeral Home beginning at 7 p.m this evening. The Rosary Altar Society will recite the rosary there at 3 p.m. Friday and a general rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Stauss was born at Colby, Sept. 7, 1881, and came to Marshfield at the age of seven with his parents. He had been employed at the Roddis Plywood Corporation plant here for 50 years before his retirement in 1949.

His marriage to Theressie Truhler took place June 26, 1901, in St. John’s Catholic Church with the Rev. John Eisen officiating. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1951.

Surviving are his wife; five sons, Frank G., Hampton, S.C.; Arthur, Oshkosh; Norman, West Allis; Howard, West Allis, and Robert, Silver Bay, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Alma) Voelker, and Mrs. Mike (Marie) Stangl, both of Marshfield; 22 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. James Mackessy, Chicago, Ill.; and Mrs. Leona Mittlestaedt, Marshfield, and a brother, John of Phoenix, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by one daughter and three sisters.
