Stewart, Joyce & Mary (Double Marriage –1949)

Grace Methodist Church at Greenwood was the recent scene of the wedding of the Misses Joyce Elaine and Mary Loris Stewart, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart of Greenwood. They became the brides respectively of Robert Van Kueren, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Van Kueren of New Richmond, and Everett Humke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Humke of Greenwood.

For their wedding the brides were attired in identical gowns of lace fashioned with sweetheart necklines outlined in beads, fitted bodices, full skirts that extended into chapel trains, with imported silk illusion fingertip veils held in place by clusters of pearlized orange blossoms. They carried bouquets of tea roses surrounded by white stephanotis and tiny roses.

James Van Kueren, River Falls, acted as best man for his brother; Miss Eileen Mattson, Eau Claire, attended Miss Joyce as bridesmaid, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Humke of Neillsville, brother and sister-in-law of Everett Humke, attended him and Mary Loris.

Cathy Asplin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Craig Asplin of Greenwood, was flower girl and Lanny Stewart was ring bearer. Ervin Steiger of Neillsville and Paul Thompson of Greenwood were ushers.

Guests came from Wausau, Chicago, Thorp, Owen, Withee, La Crosse, Milwaukee, Mosinee, Iowa, Colby, Auburndale, Winnebago, Minn., Gerber, Cal., Plainfield, Wautoma, Wisconsin Rapids, Loyal, Marshfield, Sauk City, Denmark, Minneapolis, Rib Lake, Stevens Point, Whitehall, Baltimore, Md., Park Falls and Eau Claire.
