Lindow, Carol Jean (Marriage - 20 August 1949)

Miss Carol Jean Lindow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lindow of Chili, became the bride of William Baumgartner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baumgartner, also of Chili, on Saturday, August 20, 1949.

Vows were said in the United Brethren Evangelical Church before an altar banked with flowers. The Rev. Raymond Browe performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose as her gown a white satin with marquisette yoke and a fitted bodice. The skirt, train and fingertip veil were edged in lace. She carried a shower bouquet of red and white roses and swansonia.

Ardith Lindow, sister of the bride, was matron-of-honor. She wore a blue marquisette gown with lace inserts over taffeta. A blue net bonnet with open crown caught with a series of flowers.

The bridesmaids, Joyce Baumgartner, sister of the groom, and Germaine Lindow, cousin of the bride, chose gowns of pink and yellow respectively. They carried identical bouquets of roses, carnations and asters.

The groom was attended by Marvin Gerber, cousin of the bride. Harold Baumgartner of Colby, and Walter Holt of Marshfield, Claire Schlinsog of Loyal and William Pusheck served as ushers.

Emily Beil, dressed in a blue net gown over taffeta, served as flower girl. She carried sweet peas and sweetheart roses. Elgin Roehl acted as ring bearer. Connie Lee acted as miniature bride wearing a dress like the brides and carried a colonial bouquet of roses, asters and swansonia. The miniature groom was Wayne Baumgartner.

Charles Lindow sang two selections, accompanied by Mrs. Albert Grimm.

A wedding reception was held in the church parlors at 6 o’clock for 150 guests.

The young couple left on a two-week honeymoon to southern Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa. They will be at home after September 5.

The groom who served for two years in the 32nd Infantry is now employed at farming.
