Segel, Gladys (15 APR 1943)

Sgt. Robert Rous and bride left recently after a visit at the home of Robert’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Rous and with other relatives.

The marriage of Sergeant Rous and Miss Gladys Segel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Segel of Chicago, occurred Thursday, Apr. 15 at 5 p.m. in the presence of the bride’s parents, brother and sister-in-law, and a few friends. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents served a 6 o’clock dinner in a Chicago restaurant for the wedding party.

The bride is employed as a stenographer in a government office in Chicago and will continue her work there for the present.

Sergeant Rous attended the Mack grade school and graduated from Loyal high school of 1932. He served one term in the U.S. army before the war.

Upon his discharge at the end of his three-year term he enlisted in the reserves and because of the entry of the United States into the war was called back into service a few months later. He is in the radio division of the signal corps. He received his additional training in Chicago and then went to the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where he served as an instructor for three months. He is now located at Fort George C. Mead, Maryland.

The best wishes of the Tribune go with those of Robert’s many other friends here to him and his bride.
