Edward Conrad Glamann Ex-Alderman Second Ward

Edward Conrad Glamann, West Depot Street, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Glamann, was born on a farm near Theresa, Dodge County, Wisconsin, June 25, 1891. His father is dead. His mother lives at Almond. He attended the public and Lutheran schools. When he was 13, his parents moved to a farm in the town of Levis, Clark County, near Neillsville. There he assisted his parents at farmwork. Six years later they located at Unity to engage in the hotel business. For three years he assisted his father in the conduct of this business. Then he accepted a job in the Montreal Hotel in this city which he held about six months. Since then he has worked for the Stewart Smith Drayline, the C. E. Blodgett Wholesale Grocery Company, and the S. Miller Fruit Company as a truck driver, and for the Uthmeier-Hintz Store, the Charles Hart Store, and the Joseph Boulieu Store as a deliveryman. The last named store is his present place of employment. He has been there the past two and one-half years.

Mr. Glamann was married to Miss Alma Mellenthin of the town of Unity, Clark County, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Mellenthin, by the Reverend Ziehlsdorf, at the parsonage of a Lutheran church near Spencer, May 14, 1914. Mr. and Mrs. Glamann have one son, Donald, 9.

In politics, he is a Republican. During his political career he served two terms, four years, as a representative of his ward on the city council, from 1923 to 1927. While on the council he was the chairman of the health committee and a member of the poor and judiciary committees. Fraternally, he is affiliated with the Owls and Eagles. He is the present invocator and a former warden of the Owl Lodge. His hobbies are fishing and motoring.
