Lueck, Eric Theodore (21 August 1886 - 4 September 1949)

Eric Lueck of he Town of York died on Sunday, September 4, 1949, at 9:15 a.m. Funeral services were held at the Georgas Funeral Home at 1:30 and at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at Christie at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Rev. Walter Schedler of Withee officiated.

Mr. Lueck was born August 21, 1886, in Germany. He was brought to the United States by his parents when he was 9 months old. He grew to manhood in the Town of Weston, where his parents lived.

He received his education in the rural and Lutheran schools. He worked in the logging camps for several winters. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Christie and has been a deacon there for several terms. He also held various other church offices.

He was married to Elsie Wieting of Pine Valley on November 19, 1913. They have lived on the same farm since their marriage.

Surviving besides his wife, are the following children: Mrs. Alfred (Lucille) Boon, Greenwood, and Wilmer, Bernita and Norma, all at home; two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Theo (Lena) Hoffman, Wabasso, Minnesota, Mrs. Henry (Bertha) Steinke* (Stiemke), William Lueck and Charles Lueck, all of Neillsville.

Three grandchildren, twin sons and a daughter, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Pallbearers at the Eric Lueck funeral were: Herman Tesmer, Henry Kroll, Irving Fischer, Everett Buettner, Clarence Holt and Lenn Boon. Ladies in charge of floral offerings were: Mrs. Archie Timmerson, Mrs. George Buddinger and Mrs. Herman Tesmer.

Mrs. Donald Lenz, Evangeline Dietche and Bonnie Worchel sang two selections accompanied by Mrs. Louise Warnecke.
