Haire, James G. (4 JUL 1861 - 23 JUL 1946)

Final rites will be read for James G. Haire, 85, at 2 p.m., Friday, July 26, from the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin). Rev. C. E. Guthrie, pastor of the Congregational Church, will conduct the service, and interment will be made in the Riverside Cemetery.

Old age complications had prohibited Mr. Haire from enjoying his daily walks and companionship with his many friends about town for the past eight or nine months. Since January he had been hospitalized at Stanley, where he passed away Tuesday morning, July 23, 1946.

Pallbearers at the service will be A.M. Wilson, H. L. Randall, Elwin Powers, Alvin Thorson, L. W. Cattanach and Julius Johnson.

Flower girls are Mesdames, Edgar Alberts, Lucius Bowen, Shirley Grimes and Lawrence Christopherson.

James G. haire was born July 4, 1861, at Middletown, Pa. At Moline, Ill., on Sept. 3, 1884, he was united in marriage to Mathilda Green. The couple and their family of four children moved to Wisconsin in 1907, first settling on a farm in Clark County. Later Mr. Haire was employed by the John S. Owen Lumber Co., serving that company as a wagon maker. For the past fifteen years he had been retired and spent his days enjoying his favorite sport of baseball during its season and daily visits to the business section of the community.

Surviving him and mourning his loss to the community besides his friends of long standing are, his wife, a sister, Mrs. A. B. Cross, Chicago, Ill.; two sons, Herbert R. Haire and Wm. Roland Haire, and one daughter, Edna. One son, Richard Raymond preceded him in death.
