Stock, Jeanette (10 AUG 1946)

The Catholic Church at Medford (Taylor Co., Wis.), was the scene of a beautiful wedding ceremony Saturday morning, Aug. 10, 1946, when Miss Jeanette Stock was given away in marriage by her uncle Paul Stasek, Owen, Wis. (Clark Co., Wis.), to Joe Lange, of Medford. The ceremony was read by Father Reuter, after which a breakfast for the bridal party was served at the home of the groom’s parents.

For the occasion the bride chose a lovely gown of white satin with net overskirt with a long train net top, and long sleeves, coming to a point at the wrists, and a tightly fitted bodice. She carried a bridal bouquet of white roses.

Attending her were her twin sister June, and bridesmaids Margaret Stock and Miss Niemuth. All of the attendants were similarly dressed, wearing gowns of blue satin with net overskirts, short sleeves and wore blue rosettes in their hair. Each carried a bouquet of red and white carnations.

The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Ray, as best man, and a friend, Lynn Nelson, was groomsman. All wore dark business suits and wore carnation boutonnieres.

A two-thirty dinner was served at the Riverside Hotel at Medford for a large number of guests. Especially appropriate for the occasion were decorations of green and white crepe streamers, a large three-tier wedding cake and large baskets of mixed flowers set about the dining hall.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Helen Stock of Medford. She had been graduated from the Farragot High School in Chicago, and previous to her marriage had been operating the "Twins" sweet shop in Chicago with her twin sister. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lange, Sr., of Medford, and is a graduate of the Medford school system. He served with the united States Navy for four years during the war, and since his discharge has been operating his uncle’s farm near Medford.

The newlyweds will make their home on the farm the groom has been operating, following a short honeymoon trip.

Guests from away that attended the wedding ceremony were: Mrs. Rose Stock and two sons, Herbie and John of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hamm and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stasek and family of Owen.
