Turville, William Durbin (15 May 1869 - 17 September 1949)

William Durbin Turville, 80, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ben Dahnert of Marshfield on Saturday, September 17, 1949, after being in ill health the past two years.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Georgas Funeral Home with Rev. Virgil Nulton officiating. Interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Turville was born May 15, 1869, to John and Eliza Durbin Turville at Oconomowoc, Wis. On November 1, 1892, he was married to Carrie Campbell at Oconomowoc. They took over his parents farm there and operated it for eight years. They then moved to Clark County, where he farmed for 47 years until his health failed him. He disposed of his farm in 1947.

Surviving are the following children: Chester Turville, Neillsville; Mrs. Gordon (Kezia) Lavine, Oregon City, Ore.; Mrs. Milton (Carrie) Redman, Oshkosh; Richard Turville, Fort Shaw, Mont.; Mrs. Grace Hein Spencer, Daniel Turville and Mrs. Ben (Hannah) Dahnert of Marshfield; John Turville, Bartlett, Ill.; one brother, Samuel Turville of Oakfield, Wis., and two sisters, Mrs. William (Hattie) Clough of Waupun and Mrs. Julia Vincent of Eau Claire. Twenty-five grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Turville preceded him in 1932. Two sons, Ralph and William, two brothers and two sisters also preceded him, Ralph passing away last month.
