Rossman, Fred G. (17 DEC 1872 - 19 JUN 1943)

Fred G. Rossman, 71, died at 9:30 o’clock Saturday night, June 19, at St. Joseph’s hospital in Marshfield, after having been in poor health for several years. Death resulted from a complication of ailments.

Mr. Rossman was born in New Holstein on Dec. 17, 1872. At the age of 5 her came with his parents to a farm in the Spokeville community. Here he grew to manhood.

He was married to Lettie Whitmore at Spencer on Oct. 8, 1895. After their marriage, they lived in Spencer for a few years and at Merrill for a short time, and moved to Loyal in 1901, having lived here since that time. Mr. Rossman was a railroad section foreman here for many years.

His was a quiet, unassuming disposition, and he was well and favorably known in this community.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Edith, at home, and Mrs. Elmer (Florence) Johnson, Silver Spring, Md., and by two grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Henry at Thorp, John at Gilman and Will at Boyd, and three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Bushman of Gilman, Mrs. Hannah Black of Puyallup, Wash., and Mrs. Anna Ver Douw of Mackintosh, S. D.

Funeral services were conducted last Tuesday afternoon at the Nichols Funeral Home, and interment was in the Loyal cemetery. The Rev. A. J. Abbott, pastor of the Greenwood Methodist church, officiated. Pallbearers were Ira Clouse, Frank Klein, Frank Duell, Archie Smith, Albert Castner and William Essex.

Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Elmer Johnson and children of Silver Spring, Md.; Mr. and Mrs. John Rossman and Mrs. George Bushman of Gilman; Mr. and Mrs. William Rossman and son, John of Boyd; Henry Rossman, Mr. and Mrs. Rueben Rossman and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Lavine of Thorp; Leonard Rossman of Bloomer; Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Bushman and daughter of Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lorselle of Chippewa Falls.

W. M. Reese and Mr. and Mrs. Chester Clark and daughter Betty of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Whitmore and son Riley and Mrs. Jean Barden and daughter Sally of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dehnke, Mrs. Ed Whitmore and Mrs. Minnie Whitmore of Wausau, and Mr. and Mrs. William Kobbs of Spencer.

Sympathy is extended to the bereaved relatives by the Tribune.
