Ackerman, Pauline (13 June 1878 - 15 March 1950)

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, March 18, 1950, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for Mrs. Pauline Ackerman, who died at her farm home on Wednesday evening at 10:40 p.m. The body lay in state at the Georgas Funeral Home until one o’clock on Saturday, when it was taken to the church. The Rev. Alfred Schewe officiated. Interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Ackerman had been in poor health for about one year. She entered Luther Hospital at Eau Claire on November 1, and remained there two weeks. She has been failing in health since that time.

Pauline Marth was born to Albert and Albertina Beyer Marth in the Town of Pine Valley on June 13, 1878. She received holy baptism on July 7, 1878, by Rev. William Fischer. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and was confirmed with a class from that church on April 10, 1892. On January 1, 1903, she was married to Frederick Ackerman. Four children were born to this union, two of whom survive.

She is survived by her husband, one son, Arthur, on the home farm in Pine Valley, one daughter, Mrs. William (Irma) Sollberger, Town of Hewett, one brother, Joe Marth, Neillsville, and one sister Mrs. Charles (Bertha) Puphal of Merrill.

One son, Cecil, died in 1935 and one daughter, Frances, died in 1923.

Pallbearers were: Arthur Dux, Herbert Bardeleben, Art Zank, Albert Dux, Ed Marg and Frank Bardeleben.

Wilfred Galstad sang two selections accompanied by Victor Lehman at the organ.

Persons from out of town were Mrs. Bertha Puphal, Henry Puphal and family Merrill, Boyd Garvin of St. Paul.
