Zahorka, Edna (8 Jan. 1894 - 23 Jan. 1957)

Mrs. Joe Zahorka, a former resident of Colby, died of a heart attack at her home in Prentice last week Wednesday night at the age of 63 years. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Colby High School auditorium with William Peterson, Robert Wiseman and Clarence Arquette officiating. Internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

Pall bearers were Ramond Kleinstick, Norman Kleinstick, Arvin Kleinstick, Randall Sterzinger, Delmar Radetsky, Galen Scheiber, all nephews. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brockhaus of Colby and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Wepfer of Abbotsford sang "Only One Life" and "A Little While."

The former Edna Radetzksky was born in Abbotsford on January 8. 1894. She married Joe Zahorka in May, 1913. They lived in Colby from 1924 until about 1943 after they spent several years in Unity and on a farm near Edgar. They moved to Prentice about five years ago.

Surviving are the widower; a son, Eldred, of Ogema; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Mae) Lager, of Phillips; one brother, Emil Radetzsky, of Colby; four sisters, Mrs. Otto Parge of Milan, Mrs. Anna Kroehn of Milwaukee, Mrs. Richard Kleinstick of Edgar and Mrs. Frank A. Sterzinger of Colby; four grand children.

Out of town relatives here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. William Kroehn, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Parge and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Enge of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Radetzsky of St. Paul, Minn., Joyce Radetzsky of Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kleinstick, Mr. and Mrs. Ramond Kleinstick and family, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Kleinstick and family. Arvin Kleinstick of Edgar, Mildred Kleinstick of Madison, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Accola and family of Pittsville, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Parge of Milan, Mr. and Mrs. Art Lodholtz of Marathon, Mrs. Frank Zahorka, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Haderline and son, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Zahorka and son, Mr. and Mrs. Al Horacek, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Wepfer of Abbotsford, Sister Lierta of Princeton, Mr. and Mrs. William Krueger, Jr., of Wausau, Mrs. Harold Wepfer of Washington, D.C., Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Olson of Marshfield, Mrs. John Hanson and daughter of Westboro.

Out of town friends here were from Phillips, Catawba, Prentice, Ogema, Medford, Stetsonville, Dorchester, Abbotsford, Edgar, Wausau, Schofield, Eau Claire, Gilman, Spencer, Marshfield, Greenwood, Pittsville.

Mrs. Zahorka will be remembered here by many as a lady with a congenial disposition who always endeavored to perform her duties honestly and well.
